After thinking it was slightly slow in the opening pages this turned into a great story - although this is an historical romance, there wasn't any flowery speech or lots of silly rules of society, as the whole book is set away from London society and in this secluded place by the sea...this suited me very well, as I am not keen on a lot of historical romances.
I loved the main characters. Susannah was a strong, intelligent and slightly quirky heroine and Bram was a great hero. I did find a couple of parts felt a bit slow, but the rest of the story made up for these times. I also enjoyed the whole scene of Spindle Cove and the villagers - lots of interesting secondary characters that I would love to read about too.
